The Director of the Mende Community Vocational Institute, a former health worker, faced unimaginable adversity when he was involved in a catastrophic accident in 2021. While trying to save the lives of others, he lost his own legs in the process.

During the grueling days in the intensive care unit, as he battled through pain and uncertainty, he made a profound promise to the universe. He prayed not just for his own life but for the chance to rise again, to be there for his children, and to fulfill a lifelong dream—a dream to build a community institution that would educate and empower the youth of his beloved Mende.
